Is Google Page Rank Important?

Yes, Google Page Rank is very important if you want to market your website on Google Search Engine. Because Google will give more priority to a website which has better Page Rank as compared to low PR (Page Rank) website. Google PR (Page Rank) directly affects the growth of website in Search Engine Ranking on Google.

How Google Decides the Page Rank of a web page?

Google Page Rank majorly relies on the number of incoming links, but these incoming links should be from quality website i.e., website with good Page Rank. If there is any bad incoming link, it will not help to improve the Page Rank.

Google Page rank does not depend upon the whole website; instead each webpage rank is calculated separately. Google Page Rank does not consider those links which are marked by no follow tag on the source website. Google decides Page Rank of a website on the basis of many factors; it includes Backlink, Internal Linking, Content Quality, etc.

Backlinks from Other Websites Improve Google Page Rank:

Incoming Link is major factor which Google considers while deciding your Page Rank (PR). It is very similar to our election process, the more incoming links you get from other website, the better your PR (Page Rank) becomes.

E.g.: if website has A has 2 links from other websites and Website B has 4, than Google Page Rank of website B will be higher than website A. But Google also consider the relevancy of the incoming links while giving its importance to your website.

But after Panda and Penguin Updates, Backlinks from low PR websites will affect your ranking negatively. So always aim to get backlink from reputed high PR website. I would recommend selecting 3 or 3+ PR website. Before selecting a website for back linking, always check the Page Rank (PR).

Effects of Adding New Pages in Website:

Adding new pages in website may dilute and affect the existing pages page rank, as linking new page with old page will pass the PR of old page to new page. But adding quality new pages in website will definitely improve your website on page SEO as well as website ranking in search Engine.

Reason for Google Page Rank Drop:

A Website’s Google Page Rank can drop if the link providing website deletes your link from their website or if their own website gets deleted or banned by Google.

Reason for Google Page Rank Loss:

A Website can lose its complete PR (Page Rank), if it gets penalized or banned by Google for overlooking Google guidelines.
